Upper Bear Creek UAC meeting Jan 26, 1999

Attending: Louise Miller, Kevin Coughlin, Wendy Walsh, Peter Lamanna, Geoff Clayton, Chuck Eberhart, Judy Westall, Steve Gallager, Bong Ste.Domingo and Nancy Stafford.

Proposed boundaries were discussed at length with the following conclusions. Include the Ag lands on the east side of Sammamish River and on the west side of the Red/Wood Highway. Include English Hill even though it is a proposed annexation area of Redmond. Add the area east of Bear Creek road and west of Bear Creek Country Club, south of NE 145th and north of NE 135th (?) This follows the flow of Bear Creek. Kevin wrote out the language of the new boundaries for Bong. Bong will provide another map for presentation to the Council. A motion to accept these changes was made and passed.

Addition language under the heading of Article IV, Section E Meeting Notices was read. A motion was made and passed to add this language to the by-laws and call them complete.

Bong provided us with a map of our area showing all properties owned by King County. We discussed possible recreation/soccer fields sites. This map will stay with the UAC as resource.

A 1999 budget proposal was read, no comment beyond Bong saying we were getting ahead of ourselves.

Louise Miller gave a brief update on Cottage Lake Park reconstruction. Replacement of the large picnic shelter on the west side of the park will have to wait for Phase III when ADA playground and equipment will be installed along with tennis courts and a cover for the performing area will be constructed. Workers found many more costly problems with water in general and the necessary restroom septic system than planned for. Funding for Phase III should be in the KC year 2000 budget. The park will be open for use this summer. (Get on the Music in the Parks list for 1999)

>UBC UAC is exploring the addition of a third lane for traffic on Woodinville Duvall Road. Our hope is that this additional lane would extend from one end of the park to the other...maybe tie into the left turn lanes at the intersection of W/D Rd and Avondale. Representatives of KC Roads will be at our Feb 9th meeting. We are hoping to have someone from Parks at the same meeting. Bong will call Al Dams (Parks), I've lined up Vaughn Breaux of Roads.

We very much appreciated Louise Millers participation in our meeting. She had alot of current information to add to our discussions. Meeting notices will be sent by postal mail as well as E-mail from now on.
