August 25, 1998

UAC Organizational meeting held at the King County Service Center, Woodinville.
Attending: Bong StoDomingo, Maria Cain, Chuck Eberhart, Bob McCormick, Steve Gallagher, Chuck Cushing, Devin Coughlin and Nancy Stafford.

Agenda had three points:
Find a representative for the UAC meetings held the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 2:pm downtown, followed by UAC meeting with King County Council reps at 3:pm. Kevin Coughlin thought he would be able to attend, he works nearby for the IRS.

The proposed joint meeting with King County Health Dept. in September to go over proposed new septic system rules and maintenance requirements. Comments/suggestions need to be written ad submitted by 9/25/98. Meeting proposed for 9/15 at library, Chuck will be the go-between with Maria Cain working on the Health Dept end. She will submit a synopsis of the document and an explanation to the Woodinville Weekly for publication. We'll need to do more planning at the 9/9 board meeting re: sign in tables, introductions etc. Advise Louise Miller about the meeting.

Upper Bear Creek Community Council Bylaws were again combed, changes made and a final copy is to go to Bong on disc ASAP.

Maria wants the Cottage Lake Management Plan and a copy of my letter of 8/17.

Chuck Cushing spoke about the health of Cottage Lake and the efforts of Friends of Cottage Lake to contact dairy and horse farms upstream, urging them to adopt good agricultural practices that can slow further degradation of the areas downstream from them. Derby Farms was one of the two letters sent, Chuck will provide UBC with a copy of the letter.

Maria brought copies of other UAC budgets for us to see.

Meeting closed at 9pm
