February 26, 1998 Cottage Lake Area Council

Attending: Chuck Eberhart, Howard Van Laeken, John Strand, Debbie Rannfeldt, Randy Engle, Mike Craig, Chuck Cushing, Nancy Stafford.

Bong brought Everett Wilcox from Four Creeks UAC Four Creeks have 15 board members, 2 each from electoral districts and 5 at large members, not all active. Board members serve 2 year terms, 1/2 up for election each year. Consensus is hard to reach with 15 members, 12 is a more workable number. Four Creeks has no central business district and is served by 3 school districts, it is composed of 11 housing developments and an amount of underdeveloped area. Four Creeks is South of Bellevue, East of Renton, West of Tiger Mt. Problems studied by Four Creeks include the Cedar Hills Landfill, Cedar Grove composting Operation, Roads, compliance of County Standards, Communication towers and transportation. Resources: Brian Derdowski is their King County Council Rep and helps them with mailing lists, mailings, etc. Bong helps with printing. They receive many notices of action in their area from the county and are encouraged to respond with comments. They receive good results from the executive side of the KCC, the entire council is more dicey. Everett served on the Citizens Participation Initiative process. A council needs 6 hard workers that are willing to put in 2 hours of meeting a month and at least that again in homework or research.

Bong will contact 3rd council district for a good map of the area we want to serve.
An update on by-laws was given to Bong. Next meeting to be held the 12 th of March, same location and time. Bong brought a flyer for the General meeting. Geoff brought an extensive list of developments and homeowners in developments we will serve. Debbie is working on updating homeowners associations list for the Water Dist and will share that with us. Randy suggested "Unincorporated Woodinville Council" as our name. Chuck Cushing mentioned creation of a LID (Lake Improvement District) on Cottage Lake as an order of business for CLAC. I suggested Don Julien as speaker from Woodinville Roundtable. Chuck to get application for use of Cottage Lake School to Bong. Nancy..TY letters to Everett
