This unusual Public Forum was held in July by request of the community; our summer months are usually concentrated only on production of Music in the Park at Cottage Lake.

Debra Twersky of 4Culture opened the meeting by mentioning the many ways King County folks can apply for funds to help produce public events/projects by a grant process throughout the calendar year.  4Culture has partnered with UBCC in production of Music in the Park for 13 years.

Brooke Pennock of Seattle Utilities addressed the community concerns about the spraying of the pipeline trails, the choice of chemicals used and reasons for them.  She had one of the guys who do spraying with her..

Jason Van Nort (and crew) of Puget Sound Energy then gave a Power Point presentation, speaking to the need and plans for the installation of a 16” pipe line within the Tolt River Pipeline Trail to convey high pressure natural gas to serve NE King County by 2015.  PSE plans are still in process, permits need to be obtained before construction can begin.  Project to take about 3 months to complete.

An active question and answer periods followed each presentation!   UBCC was thanked by presenters and portions of the audience for the information presented.

Our meeting began at 7:30 and closed at 9:PM   Our thanks to Woodinville Water District for opening and closing the meeting area for us.
