To the residents of the Bear Creek Unincorporated Area:
We are writing to ask you to make a special effort to attend our April 26, 2011 meeting, held as usual at 7:30pm at the Woodinville Water District offices.  Our local King County Council representative Kathy Lambert will be at the meeting to discuss the County Council’s proposed elimination of funding for all Unincorporated Area Councils.
I would encourage all who believe we need a local forum for discussing local projects and issues, to attend and express support for allowing the Unincorporated Area Councils to continue to exist.  The unincorporated areas of King County are governed directly by the County Council in Seattle, and do not have the benefit of local governance through city councils or planning commissions.  The local Unincorporated Area Councils are the closest thing we have to a local public forum for addressing neighborhood issues to County staff.  Driving to Seattle in the middle of a work day to attend a County Council meeting is a poor substitute for the type of local access and outreach which has been made available for many years through the local Unincorporated Area Councils.
We hope to see many of you on Tuesday night!
