Upper Bear Creek UAC Meeting Minutes

Date: March 23 2010  -  King County Road Services/Transportation
Time:  7:30- 8:50
Location: Woodinville Water District Offices
Board Attendees: Nancy Stafford. Mary Filkins. Jerry Hicks, Robert Lund
County Attendees: Marissa Alegria, Paulette Norman, Kathy Lambert
Community Attendees: Kurt Hughes, Jeanne Hannah, Tim Denn

A member of the community came thinking the meeting was about streams.  Jeanne Hannah is witnessing a stream side neighbor acting illegally with plantings etc in the steam & buffer and says she is having little or no success in getting DDES’s attention to the problem

I mentioned the terrific access our community has to many things King County handles through
their Community Service Centers   The Cottage Lake office at Avondale and Woodinville /Duvall
Rd NE is one of 7 service centers in King County where citizens can conduct county business without driving to Seattle.  They can apply for passports during evening hours.  Our office is open Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays….stop in and learn more!

The meeting began about 8PM and because of the size of our group. We circled our chairs to hear Paulette's presentation.  She had the following handouts:

Þ Transportation Needs Report on Projects within the Upper Bear Creek Unincorporated Area
as of 3-23-10.  This is a 20-year projection report on area needs.

with Budget figures, Construction year dates, Location, Scope and Status for
2010-2014  (a six-year plan)

The above all generated questions that Paulette either answered or took notes to find answers for, and get back to us with them.  Paulette referred us to the King County Web site for some of our answers
And more complete information.  The phone number for traffic emergencies is 206 296 6596.

Kurt Hughes gave an update on the “A Better Avondale” efforts to have a portion of Avondale overlaid with AS or Quiet Asphalt.  Progress on this can be found on their website.  “Next Gen-
eration Concrete Surface Grinding is scheduled to begin mid April and last 5-7 days, expect traffic delays.  This “test patch” will be laid between NE 146th Way and NE 151st Street.
