Upper Bear Creek UAC Meeting Minutes

The meeting began with a brief discussion about a proposed development on N 128 th and 176 th NE (English Hill) because several emails had been received by the UBCC, asking for assistance in getting their responses to the correct persons within time limits. The council was not given notice about the project Kempin Estates so information on the Internet was obtained for the meeting. The persons who had contacted the council were not in attendance. (Delaney, Mathews, Paddleford)

Lauren Smith is the countywide coordinator of the Executives Rural Initiative. The Rural Initiative is King County’s coordinated effort to improve service delivery and customer service to rural residents.

Her handouts explained Why the County needs a Rural Initiative, it’s Mission & Goals, Guiding Principles and Actions taken in support of the Initiative. On the list is A Memorandum of Understanding between King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks and Four Creeks Unincorporated Area Council; entered as a pilot Community Partnership Agreement.

Fereshteh Dehkordi is the Rural Permit Coordinator in Building Services Division of King County DDES. She addressed some questions from the audience and had several handouts from her office.

“Our counter office is open to walk ins from 7:00 to 9:30 AM Mon-Thurs. Folks can sign up to talk about their project to any dicipline (dept). Staff can be better prepared if you do call ahead of coming.” She can be reached at 206 286 7173 or fereshteh.dehkordi@kingcounty.gov for more information.

Both Lauren and Fereshteh will be attending the October 27 th UBCC meeting.

Rich Lund has agreed to join the Board of the Upper Bear Creek Community Council…welcome Rich!

Meeting adjourned at 9:05. Next meeting October 27 th with Major Terell Wills of the Sheriff’s office with current crime statistics and Paul Reitenbach with an update on Form Based Code project of DDES.
