Upper Bear Creek Unincorporated Area Council

Serving 22,000 people in north-central King County between the Sammamish and Snoqualmie Rivers and north of Redmond and east of Woodinville.

The Upper Bear Creek Community Council meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of most months. The purpose of the council is to inform, assist and represent our community in dealing with King County government and other entities with respect to issues that affect our community.

For further understanding the role of Department of Development and Environmental Services (DDES) of providing services that help ensure the future stewardship of our rural lands and the Bear Creek Basin, department head Stephanie Warden will talk on developing more effective code enforcement, communication, and coordination.

Paula Adams , communication director for DDES will show us how to use the Internet to locate a parcel of land on a map and then determine whether permits have been issued to conduct actions seen being taken on that parcel of land.

UBCC welcomes Joan Burlingame in the newly created post of Rural Liaison for CAO issues in King Co.; she’ll describe her role in this process of Rural Stewardship.

Code enforcement has not been dependably effective in the past; learn what’s being done to correct that for the new CAO.
